NOTA: Nel 1930 Cesar De Trey, facoltoso uomo d’affari svizzero nonché commerciante d’orologi, si trovava in India dove assistette ad una vivace partita di polo, sport estremamente popolare a quel tempo nel continente.Alla
fine della partita un ufficiale dell’armata britannica si lamentò per la rottura del vetro del suo orologio durante il gioco e, quasi scherzosamente, chiese a Cesar de Trey di inventare un segnatempo di impronta classica, elegante, adatto alle situazioni formali ma resistente agli urti qualora venisse utilizzato nelle partite di polo. Trey progettò un sistema in grado di far capovolgere la cassa dell’orologio in modo da poter proteggere il vetro ed il quadrante in modo efficace.
L’orologio sotto il nome di Reverso apparve sul mercato dopo
